How to handle poor video quality?

If you are experiencing poor video quality or if you are informed that your video feed is often freezing or showing some hick-ups, it is most likely related to network performance

 

Degraded network performance can have a big impact on the video quality.  Please make sure to have a stable and performant connection.  Where possible, use a wired connection.

 

If finding a better reception or stable connection is not an option or not solving the issue, try to (temporarily) switch off your camera in order to lower the bandwidth usage.  You will still be able to run the call, but audio-only.  Do note that, even when your camera is not active, you are still able to present a file or share your screen.

 

In order to switch off your camera, click the camera icon in the toolbar.  If, anywhere during the call, you want to re-enable your camera feed, click the camera icon in the toolbar again.

If the video feed is completely frozen and there is no audio output for several seconds, connection to the call is lost.  To rejoin the call,

  • Refresh the page
  • -or- Copy the link to the meeting, restart your browser and browse to the copied meeting link
