In order to eliminate background noises when you are not talking or if you are talking to someone who is not in the call, you may want to consider switching off your microphone

Start the call with microphone muted

You can switch off your microphone at the start of the call, while you are in the waiting room  Click the microphone button in the toolbar.

As a visual reminder, this will also prompt the message : ‘starting the call without audio’.

Apart from transmitting no audio to the video call, this has no effect on the video call itself.

Mute the microphone during the call

At any point during the call, you can switch off your microphone by clicking the microphone button in the toolbar..

Unmute the microphone

While muted, you can unmute your microphone by clicking the microphone icon in the toolbar.  Your audio will be added to the video call.
